The Indoor Girl

BACKGROUND: G’Ann Zieger, Indoor Girl LLC

G’Ann? What in the world is a G’Ann?
In a place far, far, away and in a different millennium, George and Ann Borski named their baby girl, Georg-Ann (for obvious reasons). G’Ann (pronounced as if it were spelled “Jan”) was a cleverly conceived nickname — but the source of a myriad of misspellings and mispronunciations over the years. G’Ann thought of changing her name to Sue Brown to prevent any future confusion but the name G’Ann makes for good cocktail conversations!

What has G’Ann Been Doing All Her Life?
Growing up in West Allis, Wisconsin and going to school; working for a company that moved her from Milwaukee to Nashville, Tennessee, to Greenville, South Carolina and to Fairfax, Virginia; traveling all over the US, Mexico and even a couple of places in Europe; shedding a couple of husbands and making some of the very best friends an Indoor Girl could want.

What’s An Indoor Girl?
After a long career in a wonderful organization that was completely left-brained (that’s the “organize me, manage me” side), G’Ann decided to pursue interests that were much more right-brained (that’s the “let’s party or bead or knit” side) — her true passions. G’Ann has always preferred to pursue for enjoyment those things that tended to be done indoors like fine dining, the arts, and first and foremost, film. For her retirement roast, G’Ann’s brother wrote a letter outlining all of her disastrous attempts at trying to be an Outdoor Girl who unfortunately spent a lot of time on the injured reserve list. With all of that left-brain activity over her 35-year career and a lifetime of klutziness, it was time for G’Ann to follow her natural instincts and the Indoor Girl was born!

So What?
Indoor Girl is a place to find really cool things for playing indoors. G’Ann’s first offering is a series of books that will help Knitter’s and Crocheter’s organize their projects and their stashes (a little “whole-brain” stuff goin’ on!). A notebook for Weavers is next in line and then a plethora (G’Ann has always wanted to use that word in a sentence) of crafts and other items will follow. Beyond that, G’Ann’s got lots of ideas!
